Artist Statement
When creating in the studio, I regularly reference and tap into my life and the many aspects of my history and daily living which influences my work.
Be it discarded items along my path, colors, textures, skylines/horizons, animals, people, places or living in SW Colorado. Often, the natural beauty and power of this landscape, seeps into some aspect of what I am inclined to include in my art. Literally and energetically, it shows up.
My process is rooted in exploration. With a shift in mindset, I’ve come to see my studio as a lab—where discovery, improvisation, play, and adaptation lead the way. There’s freedom in letting go of control, in allowing the work to evolve with its own voice. This is where the most honest pieces emerge. I hope visitors to my work experience this same sense of curiosity, movement, and connection.
